					<description>Combination of things here: I don't think they were as supportive as they're sometimes made out to be, don't think war per se is that conservative a cause (the media like government and governments make war -- you won't see them drumbeating as much for, say, budget cuts), and think that since (as noted above) ratings trumps all, they probably get perversely excited by the prospect of having explosions and other easily-rendered-as-visual elements to play with (vs., say, tort reform or something that might require shooting footage of piles of paper).</description>

					<description>I'm sure everything you've said about your experience at ABC is true. And yet, plainly, you're missing something here. Because if the mainstream media really are so left-leaning, then why did they get behind the Iraq war so uncritically,and for so long? Why did network news, cable news, and even the NY Times, until a couple of years ago, almost monolithically promote the talking points, and even the verifiable lies of the Bush Administration? 

How do you account for this?</description>
